We have also included some guides covering special areas, such as backpacking.  Country guides usually include information on cities, while city guides usually only cover cities.  They are listed in alphabetical order.

This is the well-known "The Virtual Tourist" site.  It is a beautiful site with lots of information. They also have on-line travel services.
 
WATA Country List

This is the Country List of the World Association of Travel Agencies (WATA) with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. They list all the country names on one page. When you click on a name, it takes you to the country page. The country information is based on the country's national tourist office. What we especially like about the information is that the categories include "must-see" sights, what to buy and the most favorable seasons to visit, as well as, the usual categories.

Wikitravel is a project to create a free, comprehensive and reliable travel guides for the whole planet. They have done an excellent job. So far they have over 13,000 destination guides and other articles written and edited by Wikitravellers from around the globe. Includes color photos.

This will take you to their Travel Guides, Reviews and Maps section to search for a city, country, or state or province within a country.  (This is the Travel.yahoo.com path to find travel information at Yahoo!  You can also get to Yahoo! travel information through their Yahoo! Travel Directory listings which are listed below.  The categorization and content are different depending on which path you take, although there is considerable overlap in travel sites that they list.
